Katherine Cowie

Katherine was born and raised on the beautiful west coast of Canada, in Vancouver. After several years as a competitive gymnast, she began her dance training at Arts Umbrella, and later went on to earn a BFA from The Juilliard School in New York. In 2005, Katherine began four years of performing and extensive touring with Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal, where she had the privilege of working with choreographers such as Rodrigo Pederneiras, Crystal Pite and Aszure Barton.  She recently danced in Crystal Pite/Kidd Pivot's remount of Lost Action and has also enjoyed collaborating with upcoming Montreal based choreographer Edgar Zendejas. Katherine joined Hofesh Shechter Company in January 2010.
