Norman Jankowski

Norman Jankowski was born in and grew up in Eastern Westfalia, Germany.  His Dad bought  him his first drum kit when he was seven years old. One year Norman started to take classes at the Loehne School of Music, where he was first educated in classical percussion and then studied jazz drumming for eight years.  Reaching the times of Rock´n´Roll he went to Hamburg where he joined the Latin-Punk Band Niños Con Bombas with whom he toured for over seven years throughout the world including Brazil. It was in Brazil that Norman was introduced to the Brazilian frame drum, the Pandeiro on which he plays most his gigs today. After working with Niños Con Bombas, he went to Spain for to work with Polvorosa for several years, and it was in Barcelona, where he met  Yaron Engler, with whom he works in TAPEPLAS.
