Yaron Engler

Music Collaborator / Drums

Born in Haifa, Israel, Yaron studied drums with David Rich from 1998-2000. In 2003 he graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, U.S.A. During his time at Berklee College, Yaron studied with Danilo Perez, Dave DiCenso, Ian Froman, JoeLovano, Jeff Galindo, Steve Prosser and Jamey Haddad among others. Since 2003 Yaron has been living in Barcelona and, together with the tap artist Sharon Lavi , has been directing TAPEPLAS (www.tapeplas.com), a company with a unique style of tap dance, music and rhythm. Yaron is the Musical Director and the choreographer of the drummers in the company and has composed the soundtracks of the shows MONKEYS and BoomBach with which the company has performed all over Spain and in Germany, Italy and the U.S.A.

Since 1995, Yaron has performed as a drummer and percussionist in Israel, the U.S.A, and Spain with Fame, KexevKezev, Tawanda, Ari Gorali, 40º, Yoni Embar, The Tommy Moors Blues Band, Avital Pasternak and Vitrage. Yaron teaches drums, percussion and improvisation, working with dancers and musicians around the world. Yaron has been participating in various projects with Hofesh Shechter since 2003.
